Gary Rowley

Gary Rowley was born and raised in a small rural town in Nebraska, an area which the artist has recently returned to.  The roots of small town America run deep in this artist heart and often find their way onto the blank canvas.  This combined with the artist's personal interest in the 1930's and 40's era of history can make for interesting artwork.  The majority of Gary's work is inspired by personal experiences or places traveled.  For example a painting titled "The Stagehand" was born out of volunteer work by the artist behind the scenes of a traveling production.  The resulting picture not only captures the mood and vision of an era of time, but also personal experience.  These elements are something that Gary believes is important to the making of great art.  It is this combination of mood, personal experience and painting style which has made his paintings the choice of personal collectors.  Gary is a self-taught artist who has been painting for over a decade.  He is represented by the Louisville Art Gallery, Louisville, NE.
